An occasional look at books not currently on the media radar.
A heady mix of theoretical physics and fairy tale, Mr g by Alan Lightman is a delightful stroll through the Void (capitol V) with protagonist, Mr g, his family members Uncle Deva and Aunt Penelope, and the inevitable antagonist of creation, Belphor and his two minions. I love circumstances and stories where spirituality and science meet (or collide.) Lightman claims to be a non-believer, but an unsolvable mystery begs for a solution. The result: play! And isn’t that where all theories start?
